Day Sails
Step Aboard a Western Australian Icon
Haul on the lines to set the sails, take the helm under the Captain’s guidance, and even climb aloft if you’re feeling adventurous. Or simply relax, enjoy the sea breeze, and keep watch for local marine life as you sail the beautiful Western Australian coastline. Come and join us for a four hour Day Sail on the STS Leeuwin II!
Please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
What’s Included
No previous sailing experience is required.
- 4 hours sailing, departing from and returning to B Shed, Victoria Quay, Fremantle
- Light refreshments, tea and coffee on-board
- A guided tour of the ship
- Opportunities to help set the sails and steer the ship
- Weather permitting, the chance to climb the bow-sprit or foremast
- Information about Leeuwin Ocean Adventure youth programs and voyages

About the STS Leeuwin II
Built in Western Australia in the style of an 1850s three-masted barquentine, the STS Leeuwin II was launched in 1986 as a purpose-built sail training vessel. Over 40,000 young people have experienced the thrill of life at sea aboard Australia’s largest sail training tall ship.
Now it’s your turn to enjoy a taste of an ocean-going adventure on this magnificent steel ship.
