Thanks to our generous sponsors, the Foundation is able to offer scholarship support to cover full or part of the voyage fare. Below is an overview of the scholarships that are currently available. In partnership with the CBH Group, Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation has opened applications for a scholarship for a week-long adventure onboard the STS Leeuwin II.
- Applicants must be between the age of 14 – 25 years
- Applicants live in one of the five grain growing zones in which CBH operates – please map on application form
The CBH Group are awarding six scholarships of $2,000 towards the recipient. A gap fee of $300 will need to be funded by the participant; either through fundraising or one outright payment.
Applications close Thursday 30th November 2017.
The Shire of Dardanup is offering a minimum of 6 residents of the Shire, between the ages of 14 and 25 the opportunity to receive a full scholarship to participate in a Youth Explorer Voyage.
The applicants will travel on Voyage 1802: 19 – 25 January 2018.
Applications close on Friday 3 November 2017 at 4.30pm. An interview process will be conducted and successful applicants notified following this process.
Applications are received through the Shire website.
The Sir Frank Ledger Trust provides scholarships to deserving young people from 14-25 years of age who wish to participate on a Leeuwin voyage.
There are currently two scholarships available for the Career Challenge Voyage.
Scholarships from The Sir Frank Ledger Trust cover up to $1,500 leaving $750 (minimum) to be covered by the applicant or other sponsors.
To apply for this scholarship, you must be available to sail 8 – 14 December 2017.
Planned giving from the Geoffrey Evans Trust has resulted in two available scholarships for Great Southern youth (aged 14-25) with a marine or maritime interest.
Who live in the Roebourne, Karratha, Broome, Exmouth or Perth Metropolitan area
Have an interest in a career in the marine environment or the maritime industry
